Coeymans area Cemeteries

Within the Town of Coeymans there are several large cemeteries, Grove Cemetery in Coeymans, Coeymans Hollow Cemetery, Alcove Cemetery and Indian Fields Cemetery.  There records are all maintained by the Town of Coeymans. Saint Patrick’s Parish Cemetery, located in Coeymans, records are maintained at the Albany Diocesan Cemetery Office. Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, in the Town of New Baltimore is just South of the Village of Ravena and the resting place for many local residents. There are also many small family burial plots within the Town of Coeymans.

Grove Cemetery in Coeymans is the resting place of many of the early prominent Coeymans Families, names such as Blaisdell,  Slingerlands, Briggs, VanDerzee, Colvin, Bronk, Powell and Civil.   Grove is the final resting place of Ver Plank Colvin, the prominent Land Surveyor and Founder of the New York State Forest Preserve and Adirondack Park.
